Juneteenth
Celebrate freedom with free activities in
Oberlin on June 17, 18, and 19.
Juneteenth begins with a comedy night on
Thursday. Friday events
include an “Oberlin in 1860” trolley tour, children’s
book launch, historic Westwood cemetery tour, community picnic, and the Maafa memorial service. Activities continue on Saturday
with a downtown parade and festival on Tappan Square. The event concludes Saturday
evening with a free outdoor concert by the M.usically I.nclined
Band performing Latin jazz, funk, and blues. Presented by Juneteenth
Oberlin, Inc.

Chalk Walk
Saturday, June 26

Downtown Oberlin
Oberlin’s
fifth annual festival of sidewalk
chalk art! The public and
master artists create works of chalk art using downtown Oberlin sidewalks
as “canvases.”
All skill levels are welcome.
High quality chalk pastels are provided to the public free of
charge. The event concludes
with a free outdoor concert by The
Ron Busch Quartet performing mainstream bop. Saturday, June 26, 7:00
PM to 9:00 PM. Clark
Bandstand, Tappan Square, corner of North Main (State Route 58) and West
Lorain (State Route 511).
Presented by the Allen
Memorial Art Museum, the Firelands
Association for the Visual Arts (FAVA), Oberlin Main Street-Chamber, and
the Oberlin Public Library.

Summer Theater Festival presents its second season with free family classics: Thornton
Wilder’s “Our Town”
opening July 2nd; an adaption of Madeleine L’Engle’s
“A Wrinkle In Time”
opening July 9th; and William Shakespeare’s “Much Ado About Nothing”
opening July 16th.
Performances run in repertory, Tuesdays through Sundays, through

Doggie Doo & Pooch Parade

Oberlin’s
sixth annual celebration of dog fun!
The event raises much-needed funds for local animal shelters,
increases awareness of the plight of homeless dogs, and helps people
become interested in adopting dogs.
Many dog rescue groups and local animal shelters come to this
event each year with dogs for people to see and, hopefully, adopt! Presented by Oberlin Main Street-Chamber.
